Wondering What to Wear to BlogHer Food in Miami? We Have Some Ideas!
BlogHer Food '14 is this week! I know we're beyond excited to bring you two days full of learning, fun, networking, and more. While you're getting excited too, you're probably asking the age old conference questions: What should I wear? What should I pack? I've thrown together some cute, fun, colorful ideas from dressy to casual and back again. Check it out before you finish packing.
What to Wear During the Day
As Meseidy mentioned as one of her top five reasons to attend BlogHer Food in Miami, sundresses are where it's at. I found some cute, professional options in colorful hues. Of note: Every single option has a shrug or cardigan. Why? Conference rooms are freezing. If you take nothing more away from this guide, please just bring a sweater. You'll thank us later.
Not a sundress kind of gal? Ain't no thang. You can wear linen pants (think, cool and breezy but covering you up), jeans, or capris. Or shorts. Or whatever you so choose. Just trust me on the sweater.
Your daytime clothing should make you feel like you. You don't have to go out and buy anything new. You don't have to wear something "on trend." Just wear what makes you happy. And a sweater. NO, REALLY.
(Of note: I left the heels at home because traipsing from room to room and off to the fantastic Saturday excursion and all around Miami... well, I opt for comfort over cute, but if you can rock those heels, go for it!)
Closing Party = Spice It Up! (Because Miami... Get It?)
The Closing Party with hostesses Ree Drummond, Jaden Hair, and Elise Bauer is going to be epic. Held at Cafeina Wynwood Lounge, the food and ambiance are sure to make for a great evening. Here's where you can dress it up with a short or long (still colorful) dress!
Rock your casual self just the same. If dresses aren't your style, bring whatever your style is to the closing party on Saturday night. We want to see you in all your individual glory.
Note the lack of sweaters for the closing party: If you're going to be hanging around outside or dancing up a storm, the sweater isn't needed. Miami.
Other things you want to pack:
- Sunglasses. Miami.
- Sunscreen. Miami.
- Bathing suit. Rooftop pool in Miami
- Business cards.
- Notebook, pens, and/or tablet for note taking.
- Your smartphone with the BlogHer Food app.
- A smile.
Anything stated in this guide is nothing more than that, a guide. Pack what you want. Wear what you want. But do bring these three things: a sweater (OMG, TRUST ME), that sunscreen (remember that song?), and the smile. The rest will fall into place as you show off your best version of you.
See you in Miami!
