Why I wouldn't be a good entertainment reporter
I was thinking about the tons of jobs that exist in the world. There are some that we don’t even think about – like inspector number 6, who inspects your clothing before it makes it onto the shelf. I think we would all agree that it’s important to do any job well, no matter how trivial we may think it is, but I wouldn’t make a good entertainment reporter because:
I’d be hard pressed to really care about the answers to the questions that I’d be obliged to ask the celebrities.
I’d question myself about the need to fawn over them and feign interest in their latest project.
I’d be black and blue from kicking myself for smiling sweetly even when the things they do or say would be unacceptable coming from my children.
I'd be exhausted from having to hold my tongue, since I’d have to be careful not to offend them so that I could be sure to have access to them at some point in the future…
…So that I can ask them some more inane questions.
What job would be hard for you to do?
