An update on my Rose
Rose, and she has come a long way, from her rescue date Sept 29th!
I was snapping pictures with my camera, and she heard me and looked up, right at me in the middle of cleaning herself, and I just had to share it.
I am very proud of Rose's progress. Her ears have been cleared of mites, that were to the extreme, per her vet, and now after the final flushing, I have drops to put in her ears everyday for 10 days...she doesn't like them of course.
Her first vet appointment was Oct 1st, and her second appt. was Oct. 10th.
You can see the damages done to her own ear from her scratching and digging, for lord knows how many years...but judging from the size of her little ear...a very long time.
If ever you notice your cats scratching or digging at their ears, please get them to the vets.
I can't imagine anyone owning this cat..and I say that because she was spayed, and not taking care of her.
She was all but skin and bones when she came to me sitting out on the back step, and from where I have no idea.
She is a very good eater, I have her on Halo, and Felidae drys, and she eats both Friskies and Fancy Feast. Three wet meals a day, until I don't feel the bones of her hips.
The bone of her spine has already filled out from having been fed, and her hair is already looking a bit better.
I was unable to get her a Halo wet can product this month due to her vet expenses, but she is eating this nicely, so for now no worries on that for the time being with a lessor brand.
Her next trip to the vets will be for her chemical blood panel, and having her teeth cleaned, they will be putting her to sleep for that procedure.
They need to be cleaned nicely, and go down into the gum line. Her breath is not the best, and I don't think it is just from her food.
Cats and dogs both need to have their teeth cleaned every couple of years, because if their teeth are dirty, the gums get inflammed and they not only get little infections, but it will affect their hearts, and other internal organs, which is even more expensive.
So this is next on my list.
I have already cut back on a few things that I enjoy each month...that I really don't need, snacks and treats from the grocery store, subscriptions to pic monkey and a couple of other places I use! Lol!! Not alot of money, but I need to have when we go in for that appointment, 125.00 for her blood work, and 180.00 for her teeth cleaning.
Being on Social Security is nice, but your very very limited with extra monies, so cutting off the few things I enjoy should help.
This is also why I decided to make cat toys, and sell them on line! I will be opening my website, that I have already, but nothing all together with pictures, etc., ready yet to load into it....on October 31st.
I am hoping to sell alot of cat toys! I will also be introducing dog toys, made extra sturdy, and past one play session...if you know what I mean! Lol!! ...and will have a couple of other surprises to put into the website.
I want everything to be perfect, because I need my business to be ongoing as I do live and care for my elderly mother, and that is not going to be forever...one day, I will need to get a place of my own, and with just S. S. nobody is going to have you, and now I have two cats to add to the mix! So our own place is very important to me.
Applying on line, no luck...millions of people are, and the jobs while they say they are there, they are either filled, or they hired someone else. Times have just changed only too quickly.
Additionally, part B comes into play for me Dec., 2014 or January 2015, I don't know which, I think it is 3 months or so before your 65th B-day. I have no idea at all how much that is going to be, so I have alot on my mind, and doing my best to make things happen for the better. I may even have to clean houses or something, and thought about going to a real estate office or many of them actually, to see if they had places that needed to be cleaned, just things like that. I want to be able to show an income of more than what I will be pulling in from S.S., so every dime is important.
