(VIDEO) Own Your Beauty: What We've Learned
A year ago, we began our journey here on Own Your Beauty; as with all good things, we have come to our end.
It's been such an adventure for me: despite having written The Beauty of Different on exactly the topics we've discussed over the past twelve months, the truth is that I've learned so much about myself and owning my own beauty from the wonderful people who we've featured here, my awesome co-contributors Caitlin and Bonnie, and the other wonderful writers on the Own Your Beauty project. The insights that have been shared here have been priceless.
Amazing also have been the comments, stories and viewpoints each of you have shared every week here at Own Your Beauty. It has been so heartening to read all your wise words and watch as you encouraged each other in the comments of every post. Thank you so much for the community you've created here.
And so, to wrap things up, I've put together a short video with the key learnings we've discussed here at Own Your Beauty. I hope you like it, and if you do, I hope you'll spread the word.
Because ultimately, I think we owe it to each other to remind ourselves how beautiful we really are.
To your beauty, friends.

Own Your Beauty is a groundbreaking, year-long movement bringing women together to change the conversation about what beauty means. Our mission: to encourage and remind grown women that it is never too late to learn to love one's self and influence the lives of those around us - our mothers, friends, children, neighbors. We can shift our minds and hearts and change the path we follow in the pursuit of authentic beauty.
Karen Walrond is a writer and photographer in Houston, Texas, and the author of the book, The Beauty of Different, available at Bright Sky Press, Amazon and Barnes & Noble. You can read/see more of her life at Chookooloonks.
