Top 10+ Gifts for Artists
I love writing the artist gift guide every year. It's like window shopping for all of the things I'd love to find under my tree. So many cool things to make. So many pretty things to look at. So much awesome art. Scroll through some of my favorites this year. I hope my favorites help you find the perfect gift for the artist or art lover in your life.
I can't recommend the Raskog from IKEA enough for the people in your life who have a lot of art or craft supplies. I have two and I ADORE them. I can't figure out where I was storing all of my art supplies before I had them. (If there is no IKEA near you, they can be ordered from Amazon -- though they cost a good bit more than if you were able to get them in the store.)
I love these SoHo Urban Artist Jumbo Soft Pastel Sticks. Sidewalk art is amazing and I'd love to give it a try in my own driveway.
I think I need this Liquitex Large Scale Brush for applying gesso. I've tried all sorts of applicators for gesso and usually end up just using my hands. This brush... might just be the solution I have been looking for.
I'm not planning on changing careers but I did enjoy reading Lisa Congdon's Art, Inc. It would be a great gift for someone in your life who is thinking about building a career as an artist.
Art Snacks subscription box is the perfect subscription box for people who love to try new art products but don't want to spend a fortune on supplies that they might not love. I hope someone in my family reads this and gifts me with a subscription. Pretty please, I've been good this year. (Sort of.)
You might also be interested in the SmartArt subscription box. Instead of random art supplies, like Art Snacks, the box includes the products necessary to complete a specific project. Nice, right?
I don't know how many times I've found myself smiling about this Paint Water Mug. It just amuses me, though I've never really come close to drinking my paint water. Really, I haven't.
I'm a sucker for drawing books like What to Draw and How to Draw It. Also, don't overlook the appeal of coloring books -- there are so many to choose from and your favorite artist will love one or three of her own.
Rorshock In Color looks like a fun game to add to our collection.
A nice big jar of Artguard would be awesome for painters who constantly have pain on their hands.
Have you found any great gifts for artists that we should know about? Share them in the comments, please.
