Easy Weekday Dinners, Greek Style!
I'm always looking for great dinner recipes that are savory, mouthwatering and simple. My life is full of work, family, community obligations, work, and more family. It's not always possible for me to prepare one of my favorite old world recipes smack in the middle of all that midweek madness, but creating a super tasty reasonable facsimile...now you're talking!
It's with this mindset, and the reasurrance that yai yai would understand, that I share one of my 'busy family' pasta favorites, Greek style!
1 Pound lean ground beef
1 Medium onion, diced
3 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Teaspoon powdered garlic
1 Teaspoon salt (or more)
1/4 Teaspoon black pepper
2 Teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 28 Ounce can diced tomatoes
1 6 Ounce can tomato paste
1 Cup water
1 Pound cooked pasta
Grated parmesan cheese for topping
1.Saute the onion in the olive oil until tender and clear. Add the ground beef, garlic, salt & pepper and cook until all pink is gone.
2. Combine all ingredients, except the parmesan cheese, in a large sauce pot and mix gently. Serve topped with parmesan cheese.
Yes, it's really that quick and easy. This recipe will delight your hungy family, and give you plenty of time to shout "Yasou!"
