Did you know there are two holidays today? Of course everyone knows it's Martin Luther King Day in the U.S., but you might not know that it's International Hot and Spicy Food Day. As soon as I heard that I thought it would be fun to find something that was unexpectedly spicy for Meatless Monday. What I wanted was a hot and spicy recipe for a dish that's not normally hot and spicy, and Spicy Cauliflower Soup from A Veggie Venture fits that description perfectly. Most cauliflower soups are rich and creamy but this one is healthful and deliciously spiced with coriander, cumin, chili powder, and turmeric in addition to the red pepper flakes. Alanna says the inspiring recipe suggests you could eat it with a dollop of plain yogurt, and I'd definitely want that on mine to cool down the heat.
