Stop giving husbands a “pass.”

I’m sure you’ve heard it. Perhaps you’ve even said it before. “My husband “helps out” with the kids.” Or the man has said, “well my wife is going out so I’m babysitting the kids.” Let’s discuss something that needs to be addressed: The kids are 50% theirs. Either genetically or legally (yay adoption!), kids are JUST as much the man’s responsibility as they are the woman’s. ...more

You’re killing your child. Should I tell you?

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m new to this whole mom thing. My little man is just over 8 months old. I don’t know a lot. I don’t even have a year under my belt, so I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a rookie. As any newbie, I look to those who have come before me for advice and guidance. We (thankfully) live in the world of mommy blogs. I can read about ANYTHING online if I want to get quick feedback about a choice I’m making or just made. This is fantastic. It’s also terrifying....more

Date Night Style: Pregnancy Edition

Remember last week when I ranted about pregnancy clothes being so pricey and that I was just trying to find stuff in my closet that still fit? (If not, read it here.) I'm taking the same advice this week. Let me just tell you about this skirt. I LOVE this skirt. I purchased it and then found out I was pregnant and then was promptly sick for 4-5 months. Being sick all of the time really limits your nights out, let me tell you. This outfit is perfect for a date night or a non-black tie (re: casual or cocktail) event....more

My Pregnancy Is Not About You

Okay everyone. I've got my ranty pants on today. Normally I limit my posts to style and trends and try to keep my personal thoughts and opinions to myself online. I've left the posts about social issues and political strife to the experts while I stuck to teaching women how to incorporate current trends into their existing wardrobe. Not today. ...more

{Dressing the Bump} Leopard and Coral

Maternity clothes. I have an issue with them sometimes. Correction, I have an issue with price. I have found that when I find something I LOVE it is also ridiculously expensive. Granted, certain pieces are staples, and that is fine, but I'm talking about a dress you'll wear once. My solution thus far is to just wear stuff I have in my closet until it doesn't fit. That brings us to today's outfit. I just started trying on clothes to see what fits and what (humorously) does NOT....more

Maternity Style: Chevron Maxi

It's Maternity Wednesday! This week I opted to try a dress I already had in my closet- a chevron maxi. I really can't say enough about maxi dresses in pregnancy. They're comfy, they stretch and they come in the most adorable colors and patterns. Since I'm 5 months pregnant, I have the baby bump but it's not MASSIVE yet. (It FEELS massive, but that's not the point.)...more

Spring Trend: Tea Length Skirt

Happy Monday everyone! It's gloomy and rainy outside, so what better time to lose yourself into some cute fashion? I absolutely adore the trend for this week due to its classic nature and ladylike simplicity: the tea length skirt. ...more

White Hot for Spring

White eyelet/shift dresses are very in this Spring and there are so many styles to pick from! Every woman should have  a LBD (Little Black Dress) but the Little White Dress is starting to really be a staple for Spring and Summer. Even the Duchess is getting a little white dress fever:...more

The Best Sunscreen for All Occasions

As a redhead for my entire life, I have a very close relationship with sunscreen. As the typical fair skinned and freckled ‘ginger’, my skin goes from light to lobster in no time. I have even experienced the dreaded hairline-part burn — you know what I’m talking about ladies. I grew up with the basic white greasy SPF 30 sunscreen, and THANKFULLY there are so many choices now for those of us that are sun conscious....more

Outfit of the Day: White Coat

I think everyone has a favorite coat, and now that snowmageddon is over, I can start dressing normal again (and not like an eskimo). As you get older I think everyone gets a standard black pea coat. I got a black wool trench from Banana Republic, and it has lasted me 6 years and through several trips to Europe. When I was in New York City a little over a year ago, I saw the perfect addition to my black coat- a WHITE coat. I found it at Zara when I was out shopping and had to have it....more
