The Military and their Families: The REAL Super Heroes and Heroines of the World!
As I hear about our brilliant Military and their remarkable families, It makes me so proud to be an American. You know, it amazes me. In the bible, I think about the story of the Shepherd with a herd of 100 hundred sheep and then, one left the herd and got away. He brought 99 to an halt and went out and search for the one.
Remembering this, always reminds me of the Military and the US. 99 percent of the country is protected by 1 percent of its citzens. Isn't that Amazing?! I just couldn't believe that when I heard that for the first time. But, it's true. You know, I was writing on my blog about the job hunt and I feel about it.
The Military deals with things that the civilian mind can't even begin to imagine, let alone think about. Many of them suffer with life threatening injuries and PTSD. The last thing that they should have to do, is worry. They shouldn't have to worry about keeping their homes, finances, jobs and taking care of their families. But, many aren't so lucky. Time as many of them get home, they are facing foreclosed homes and repossessed cars. They have hard times finding and getting jobs.
A Great Surpsrise, isn't it?
As qualified as they are, they shouldn't have to look for a job. Ever! As a matter a fact, Jobs should be chasing them down. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.
For a long time, I've been looking for a job. I've got school bills and my household's got bills. I want to pay for a lot of things. I have been frustrated for some time. Arguing with myself, questioning myself. "What are you doing wrong?" "Why aren't you getting hired?" "Why don't you have to what they are looking for?"
Constantly getting on my own nerves with all of those questions. Then one day, I heard First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden talking about the Military and their families. They talked about how the Military and their spouses are facing the challenges of finding and getting jobs. They are losing homes, cars, savings and much more. Once I heard this, I had stop and think. I am in no position to complain. Yes, although I want and need a job, I am not in the same position, by no means. I'm no hero and I don't have children. I've never owned a home and I don't know what it's like to live alone.
If I don't get a job, then maybe it will go to someone in the Military or someone that has so much to figure out on their own. Yes, I've got bills, but I've just got to keep on holding on to my faith and keep on praying that things will get better for my family and myself.
Military families are Spectacular! The Spouses have got to be two parents, the chef, the driver, and everything else. They have to work and run the household and they've got to keep their families ready to be moved at a moment's notice. They've got to keep the train moving smoothly on the tracks. And I just can't imagine how hard it must be for them. But, they manage and they do it beautfully! And the children, so many of them have to change schools several times before they hit the sixth grade, let alone high school. They have to help their parents take care of their younger siblings. They've got to grow up faster than they may have wanted to. They have got to adjust and adapt all of the time. You know, when I think about it, so many of us complain about things that are so unimportant. While, these families are uncertain if they will be in the same place for six months. They don't know if they will be spending Christmas in a state with snow for the winter or a hot state during the winter. They don't even know if they will spending their own birthdays the same place, back to back years.
They go through so much and we can't say THANK YOU enough! We could try, but it just won't be enough. It won't be enough to thank these remarkable people for all that they do for this country. The families sacrifice so much, so that their loved ones can serve.
