I’m the recipe developer, writer and photographer at Cook the Story. I’m a Canadian stay-at-home mom who has somehow found herself living in Florida. My recipes are simple, fresh and from scratch while my writing is simple, fresh and from my funny bone.
My food background comes from a childhood spent in the kitchen with my mom and my Baba and from spending summers, evenings and weekends working in my parents’ restaurants (and in other restaurants) while growing up and throughout my undergraduate years.
My writing background comes from years spent in university as a Linguistics undergrad and graduate student. While a grad student at The University of Toronto I not only taught core Linguistics courses but also courses about English Grammar.
The idea behind my blog, Cook the Story:
It’s all about the story (except when it’s about the food!)
It’s true, right? Like when you’re hanging out with your friends. Everyone talk talk talks. But then, if there’s good food in their mouths they get a bit quieter, at least for a moment. This blog is a bit like spending time with close friends. Lots of stories, opinions and arguments flung around and then, hush, there’s a bite of good food.
