Kim Kardashian West Will Keynote #BlogHer16!

Today I’m super excited to announce that Kim Kardashian West will be a keynote speaker at #BlogHer16.

Kim Kardashian West Will Keynote #BlogHer16!

Kim, of course, is a pop culture phenomenon. She’s constantly under media scrutiny (take this week's Snapchat bombshell, for example). But she's more than a superstar; she's also a highly successful entrepreneur and master of leveraging social platforms. When I think about Kim, I most want to hear about these three things … straight from the source:

  • Her unapologetic life. Keeping Up With the Kardashians, her Insta and Snapchat feeds, her apps and other businesses, her body, and her newer roles as wife to Kanye and mom to North and Saint: We think we know everything about Kim, and we want to debate it all. I'm always struck by her seeming imperviousness to negativity and her ability to defend herself against naysayers as she lives her life in the spotlight. (I may even want her recipe.)

  • Growing and sustaining a business in this fickle media landscape. In a world where we all have a shot at that 15 minutes of fame, Kim has created a business and a personal brand that have remained at the center of attention for more than a decade. That's the work of an incredibly savvy businessperson who knows how to play the social web like a true virtuoso.

  • The intersection of feminism and sexuality. Sometimes Kim is creating the cultural conversations at this intersection, as she did with the iconic nude Papermag photoshoot that “broke the internet” in 2014. Often, she’s the subject of those conversations. How does she draw boundaries and make decisions about when to act, and how to react?

Kim will be speaking with us at lunchtime on Friday, August 5. And you can't see what she says if you don't go to #BlogHer16. Register now for #BlogHer16 in Los Angeles August 4-6, 2016.
