Kaliwood Fashion Awards: 2014 Oscars

The problem with the Oscars is that everyone gets their shit together when it comes to fashion. The ones who have been bombing all awards season fire their stylists and take the safe route. While it's great because finally everyone dresses up to par, it's a problem because the worst dressed list isn't as full and glorious as it should be.
So with that being said... here are the Kaliwood Fashion Awards for the 2014 Oscars!
Charlize Theron in Dior
I love giving the best dressed award at the Oscars to someone in black. Talk about right up my alley. From the sexy neckline to the pleats, to the sheer accent - just perfection.

Amy Adams in Gucci
I know most people think this was just a safe play by Amy but navy and blue seemed to be very popular this year. I can't pass up a sleek, elegant gown that just fits beautifully. And this one has just enough accent pieces to make it special.
Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace
I know Kate wasn't even a big star of the night, but BAH! I love this version of the cape trend! The power shoulders, with the drape in the back is super chic.

Camilla Alves in Gabriela Cadena
Way to rock it as an SO at the Oscars! I love the pale pink and the unique draping effect. It's almost like a cape in the front - so clever! Now if only she could ditch that unflattering accessory (Matthew) she'd be all set!
Lupita Nyong'o in Prada
From the moment she showed up at the first awards show in the red Ralph Lauren with the cape, Lupita has stolen the fashion show. She again looked stunning in this flowy blue Prada. I know people were all about the headband but I think it makes the look too youthful, so I would've done without.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture
Don't get me wrong - JLaw looks fabulous. I love the side peplum, the color and her hair. But, I felt the need to complain about this one, because she's already had TWO big red moments.

OK maybe one and a half. But the first one was big. So, yes, keeping having a fashion moment, but pick another color. She's just competing with herself here.

Anna Kendrick in J. Mendel
I freakin' love Anna, so this makes me sad. But there cannot be a bias in the world of fashion awards! I like the idea of where she was going with this look, but the dress just misses the mark. It doesn't fit well and there is too much going on. It just overwhelms her and so this beauty fell flat.

Elsa Pataky in Elie Saab
Normally I wouldn't pick on a pregnant lady. I typically leave them out of my awards because I get it - they have limited options. But this is inexcusable. We've seen some ladies rock a baby bump and even make the best dressed list doing it. But this.... literally brings a look of horror to my face. The accentuation of the belly, the saggy side boob... WHO TOLD HER THIS WAS OK??? They should be fired. Now. Or publicly humiliated like poor Chris Hemsworth was having to stand next to this monstrosity!
