Introducing Twitter Chats: #BlogHerTalks!

When I tell people about BlogHer, I have to explain that it is something so much larger than a publishing network, a web site, or a conference organizer. It is an immense community of social-media savvy individuals who have vast and passionate opinions. BlogHer is the type of group who puts the social in social media.

During the years, we have tweeted a lot as a community. We have talked during television shows (I'm shaking my fist at you, Downton Abbey), tragedies, politics, and just about every other topic under the sun. The conversations are always respectful, often witty, and sometimes thought-provoking. We love hearing what you have to say.

We decided to expand the conversation with an organized approach, inviting you to join us.  Two weeks ago, we held our inaugural Twitter chat, aptly named #BlogHerTalks. Our first topic was The Oscars.

We talked about the "boob song."

People shared their opinions about the infamous tweet from The Onion.

And, we discussed Ben Affleck's acceptance speech in which he said, “I want to thank my wife… I want to thank you for working on marriage for ten Christmases. It’s good, it is work, but it’s the best kind of work, and there’s no one I’d rather work with.”

We even found a moral.
