While you were busy cooking up the latest recipe or crafting a hot, new DIY project you found on Pinterest, the engineers of that platform were cooking up and crafting something of their own. And, unless you only follow a handful of pinboards, we bet you didn't even notice.
If you have become familiar with the Facebook Newsfeed that only shows you select content from a select few friends, you will already understand Pinterest's Smart Feed; a new algorithm that decides what you see. You no longer get pins in chronological order, and you might not see what someone has pinned at all.
Some pins are still shown to you based on who you follow, but Pinterest now determines the value of a pin and assigns a score based upon it. The higher the score, the more people will see your content.
