How to get your loved ones closer???
No, no this is not any self-help kind of article. I am not going to say any 5 ways to bring your loved ones closer. How much ever the psychologists say, we can’t generalise any situations, or any group of people. Every situation is different and every lover is different. It’s impractical to say all men are same, or sigh “women!!” when you think you are in some typical kind of situation. Likewise every love story is different, with different start, with different ending and also different types of romantic moments. I can just say that in this big-big world there is nothing ‘typical’.
Right now, at this very moment if you logon to google and type “distance quotes”, I am sure you will get many quotes saying, “Distance brings loved ones closer”. This statement is very controversial because technically two opposite words are present in one single sentence. I know there will be millions of sentences that are oxymoronic in nature. But when we are talking about this particular sentence it needs different level of understanding. The depth of the sentence is too deep for anyone to understand. I am sure even the people who have read this sentence thousand times will just attempt to guess how it would be to be in that state, but without experiencing that state no one would get the idea about it.
Honestly the Hindi translation of this sentence is very romantic. Whenever I hear/read both sentences (Hindi & English) I experience the hair on my body marching up straight. This happens because I have some kind of knowledge about what happens when that person is away from you. When I am saying away doesn’t mean few steps away walking, I mean thousands of miles away from that person. It’s just difficult to imagine that the person who was some centimetres away from you some minutes back is now crossing some borders and going to be away from you for few days, or even few months.
You must be thinking why there will be distance in such a radical generation, where money can be transferred in seconds; we can talk to someone living in altogether different time zone! We can chat, talk, and now a days skype also, then distance are for those who are unaware about the god of this generation i:e internet. But can you touch your screen and feel that person? Can you really feel the presence of the person right next to you? Can that voice from your speaker replace that melodies voice that you enjoy listing in person? The answer to these entire questions is straight “NO”. That sheer presence of that person has the magic of making you blush, shiver or smile. The screen of your computer just can’t replace that. Yes, it can be used as substitute but can’t swap the importance.
The distance actually tests the love between two people. This four letter word has lot of power and importance. This word is actually a big building that has trust, loyalty, understanding and devotion at its base. When you have the base strong nothing can break that building down. I am really not talking about the kind of buildings our government is building now a day, a funny common story in India by the way. This is something that over a period of time we understand, with all the ups and downs that a relationship can possibly goes through.
So, the question arises “what exactly happens when that person is away from you?” With all kind of different people around, different kind of answers are likely to come. If you ask me what happens to me when my someone special is away from me, I will not be able to explain properly I think. The reason I won’t be able to explain is because they are simple feelings and emotions that are sensed that time. I have sleepless nights, where my dear sleep just doesn’t want to come to me. Rolling from right to left or left to right to get comfortable, to get sound sleep; but I just can’t sleep. This is just what happens at night, the whole day goes in being restless. The whole day goes in thinking, is he alright, did he eat properly? And such small things haunts me. When I text him and ask these small things he replies, “I am not a kid I can handle myself”. When I think wisely on this, then yes, he can take care of himself. He can eat on time, sleep on time, and if he feels cold he can take the sweater and cover himself.
