For some women it seems that finding their own unique fashion voice or signature style is easy. However, what you may not see is that they've been cultivating and fine tuning it since they were very very young. Through trial and error and a willingness to stand out and/or make a statement, they have learned what works for them, what doesn't, and how to incorporate each season's trends without compromising their own personal signature style.

If you ask a woman what makes her stylish, chances are, she will have no clue how to answer you. What many of these women do have in common, is not always an unlimited budget, but a wildly creative imagination and need to express themselves visually. Their source of expression is what makes them unique and tells their own personal life story. What is true for her is not true for anyone else and in trying to find your own personal style, copying someone else's will be of no help at all to you.

Finding a muse, however, is advised and quite helpful in determining your own personal style and fashion voice. If you're not sure where to begin, watching what celebrities are wearing, or rather, what their stylists are preparing for them, is an easy place. Creating inspiration boards in reality or online via Pinterest from magazine tear-outs, including everything from clothes shoes, and accessories to hair styles, locations and destinations that offer the feeling or mood you'd like to portray.

The internet has brought fashion to all of our fingertips without having to leave our desks. Watching runway shows of designer collections online each season can be inspirational in cultivating your own style. Fashion bloggers can also be a fantastic source for inspiration in guiding you to your own fashion voice. They are heavily influenced and in some cases researched on fashion and of-the-moment trends and with each outfit post, they demonstrate how they translate the latest and greatest into their own personal styles. Here are 10 quick tips for helping you to cultivate your own personal style.

1. Just like actors in movies and TV shows, the clothes you wear help to define your personality or character to those around you. Knowing the "character" you're trying to portray is a great first step in identifying your signature style.

2. You don't need to follow every new trend to be fashionable. Find the ones that work with your style and for your personality.

3. Be consistent in your style choices but always modern.

4. Your hair style is just as much a part of your signature style as are your clothes. Learn to work with it rather than against it.

5. Style is not just in what you wear, it's in the music you listen to, the perfume you choose, the way you hold yourself and an overall "life style" that you portray.

6. Don't be afraid to experiment. Just because something didn't work on you in the 70's, doesn't mean it won't look great on you now {I'm talking to you MOM!} Fabrics have changed. The way you wear it has changed and yes, your body has even changed.

7. Look for clothes that you don't have to worry about, fuss with or pull up all the time or twist back to position. This fidgeting with your outfit strips your confidence and your goal to be effortlessly chic.

8. If you find something that works great on your body shape and makes you feel confident, stock up on that item and allow it to be your go-to piece when in a hurry.

9. Dress for your body shape. Always find a way to flaunt your assets and disguise your flaws. No matter how much style you have, if you're not dressing your body correctly for your shape, all your hard work and creativity will be lost.

10. Most importantly, wear what makes you happy and leave the house confident and ready to take on the world!
