Holiday Gift Guide for the Moms in Your Life

Holiday Gift Guide for the Moms in Your Life

So I have decided to make up some gift guides for the holidays. I know many people struggle with what to buy people for Christmas and that's part of the reason they go out and buy gifts on Christmas Eve. Of course, this isn't the only reason, some people are just procrastinators... cough cough...like me...cough. I have been getting progressively better with buying gifts ahead of time though, this year we will probably all have it completed on time. HOORAY!

I have been told that I am a good gift giver, so why not share some of my ideas for gifts with everyone else? I never have enough money available to buy all the things I would love to buy for people, not that I always need to buy expensive gifts or anything. There are plenty of inexpensive, awesome gifts out there to be had. It doesn't even matter how much the gifts cost either, but sometimes I find the perfect gift for someone and I know they would love it but it's out of my price range. I will be sharing gift guides for Moms, Dads, Babies, Toddlers, and hopefully I can get around to also making one for teenagers. There is a wide variety of people to buy for -- Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents, but I don't have nearly enough time to go through and make gift guides for everyone so I am going to stick with the immediate family.

1. Pandora Bracelet -- I myself would love to receive one of these for a gift. They definitely are not cheap, they run around $70 just the the starter bracelet itself. The charms can run anywhere from $30-$500, maybe even more that is just the price ranges I have come across. I like these charm bracelets for this reason though. If I were to have one of the cheaper bracelets with cheaper charms, I know a few people in my life that would constantly buy me silly little charms with no meaning. I want a charm bracelet where someone will buy a charm with meaning and purpose because they aren't cheap, so they put more thought into it.

2.Signature Necklace or Bracelet -- How awesome is this?! I would love to get this gift, or to buy it for someone. It is super neat! They take your signature and turn it into a necklace for you. You can chose from the following: 14k white gold plated, 18k gold plated, sterling silver. There are a few different shops on Etsy that offer this product but I chose this one because they have a good rating, they ship to Canada and the shipping is just under $10 which isn't too shabby. The cost of the necklace is just shy of $43.

3.Kobo Touch -- I know not every mom is reader, but I certainly am, and I know many other mothers that love to read. I personally find since having a child that it can be very difficult to whip out and actual book to read. When you have a sleeping baby on your lap it is so much easier to hold a Kobo and swipe through pages, only one hand needed to hold the device. This particular Kobo is designed to give you the closest experience to reading an actual book as possible, with anti-glare properties. The battery is also really fabulous on this device so you won't have to remember to charge it every day before you go out and get pissed off when the battery runs out and you can't find out what happens next in your current novel.

4.Pandora Charm -- If the mother your are buying a gift for already has a charm bracelet, this would be an adorable little addition to her bracelet. It's a cute Christmas commemorative charm without being overly Christmasy. I'm pretty sure that isn't a word but I'm going to use it anyway. Or if you are planning on buying a Pandora Charm Bracelet, perhaps a charm like this can be a gift from the children for mom. You could even take them to the store with you or let them help you browse online and pick out the charm themselves so it has even greater meaning to mom.

5. iPhone Skin -- I know a lot of people have cases on their phones nowadays to protect their phone, but this amazing company makes skins for all sorts of devices. I have one for my laptop, my Kobo, my iPad and you can even get one for your Wii. The purchase of the skin also comes with a matching background for your device to complete the package nicely. If you don't think she could use a skin for any device you can purchase canvas prints of essentially any art they have. There is a ton of amazing art on this site for purchase, with a wide variety of sizes. I myself have been meaning to buy a canvas of one of my favorite pieces of art.

6. Spa Gift Card- What mother doesn't need a bit of pampering every once and a while? This site is great if you live in Canada. I'm sure there is one like this for other countries, I'm just not aware of them. You can choose the amount of gift card you would like to purchase, then when she is ready to redeem her gift card she can choose a wide variety of locations to redeem it at. She will be able to narrow down her search based upon the type of massage she would like:

  • Swedish Massage
  • Couples Massage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Foot Massage
  • Reflexology
  • Shiatsu

So hopefully I have given you a fabulous gift idea for your wife, your mother, your sister or whatever amazing mothers exist in your life! Keep your eyes open for my future posts regarding gifts for the other people in your life that deserve a thoughtful gift.
