Hello and Welcome to Food: Clean & Simple!
Hello! Welcome to my new blog, Food: Clean & Simple. I’m thrilled that you’ve found yourself here and I hope that the blog posts I write over the next many weeks, months, and (maybe, hopefully?!) years will be entertaining, interesting, and informative to you. I’m quite excited to be starting this blog, as it’s something that has been gnawing at me in the back of my mind for years (…You love many things food and health related! You’re best at expressing your thoughts and ideas in writing! You should start a blog! …Yeah, but who is going to read it? Will I be able to come up with enough things to write about? …It doesn’t matter if anyone reads it as long as you enjoy writing it. And do you really think you’ll run out of things to write about? Think about your obsession with cookbooks, how much you enjoy cooking, and how many of your favorite conversations are those centered around food and nutrition…) And so, here I am, writing my first blog post, not quite sure how to start. But isn’t that how all great journey’s begin?
I love food, as if that wasn’t obvious by the fact that I’m starting a food blog. Have you ever met a food blogger that didn’t love food? Actually, that would probably be an entertaining blog to read. I like cookbooks… a lot. That’s something I got from my mom… along with many of the cookbooks that I own! I can lose an entire afternoon reading a book on the latest, greatest diet or nutrition recommendations. I may not agree with everything I read, nor implement it into my own lifestyle, but I love the knowledge and various perspectives gained. One thing is quite clear – everyone who adheres to a specific diet lifestyle has very strong and very good reasons for the choices that they make. I like that. What works for me, may not work for you. I’m fine with that and I hope that you are as well.
My food philosophy, simply put, involves eating foods that nourish my body and appeal to my taste buds. In my opinion, eating healthfully doesn’t mean eating flavorless foods, nor does it mean eating foods that that primarily taste like sugar, salt, and butter (not that any of those things are bad in and of themselves.) There is a flavorful and exciting world out there just waiting to be consumed. My goal with this blog is to provide recipes that stir your tastebuds and make you enthusiastic about eating foods that will provide nourishment to your body.
I have a lot of ideas for upcoming blog posts, and I’m still working out the details for the best format to share my thoughts, research, and recipes. Things will probably be a little rough at the start as I try out different things, so I’d love it if you stick with me through a failure or two, and share with me your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions. Let me know what you like, and what you don’t, whoever you are, wherever you are… if you’re out there (anyone?!)
For the time being, try not to pay much attention to the design of this blog – I know it’s quite boring and is not representative of the content I plan to share. However, I know that I can be picky about design elements, and that it may take me a few weeks to get the look of the site just right. I’ve been brainstorming blog posts for a few months and now that I’ve established my space on the web, I’m just too eager to starting posting to wait for the look of the blog to be finalized. I hope you’re okay with that!
