Happiness is a state of mind
If I read this post title two weeks ago, a couple things would happen. 1) I wouldn’t believe I wrote it, and 2) I’d gag. Okay, a fake gag, for emphasis, you know?
If you know me personally, you know I’m not one for positive thinking. This is both because of faulty neurochemistry (dopamine, I’m looking at you) and that I’ve made observant complaining my thing.
The truth is, I’m going to be a real bore at parties without my bitchy banter.
However, there’s something to be said about, you know, ‘being happy.’ And, over the past year, I’ve come to realize not only how influential our thoughts are but that we have the power to change them.
A simple shift in attitude can reframe a situation or idea, so that you perceive it completely different than before.
This is easier said than done though, isn’t it?
If you’re like me, you broke your New Years resolutions the first week. That’s okay. Start them again today. Always give yourself a second chance.
Choose to not only to be happy, but to actively seek out your own happiness.
