Managing Your Online Screen Names and Passwords

Managing Your Online Screen Names and Passwords

If you're  a modern day web surfer you've got screen names for email accounts, log-ins for websites and passwords for all of them.

Now many people use the same screen name and password all over the web, but security professionals recommend using different passwords to prevent hackers from gaining access to your accounts.

That's fine and all but how do you keep track of all those names and passwords?

You could keep them on a piece of crumpled paper in your wallet but that's about as safe as leaving the doors open on your brand new Mercedes.

I use Password Keeper on my BlackBerry.  Password Keeper is an app that keeps all your passwords and log-ins together in one convenient place.  You can include information like security questions and answers, and in addition, Password Keeper has a password generator that will generate secure passwords for you, based on your specific parameters.

But be sure to back up your entries or you could find yourself locked out of your favorite websites.

How do you manage your online screen names and passwords?
