Freshly Pressed? Find someone to get fresh with
Don, bustin' the moves at Don Of All Trades, and the Mistress of Peace, Hippie Cahier, both saw their blogs get Freshly Pressed last week. How very cool! I discovered you can follow @freshly_pressed on Twitter and news like this just magically appears in your timeline.
Sometimes it takes forever before knowledge like this gets past my sunglasses. I should remove the shades more often because...
This blog has been Freshly Pressed.
Wait while I pick myself up from the floor. I got the news via email Thursday afternoon when Michelle, over at WordPress, sent me a really nice note on my piece, "In a blog rut? Publisher reveals epic tips."
I know she and her fellow editors read the post because they had the exact same reaction reading the post as I did while writing it:
The many, many pinpricks of truth in this series makes them truly laugh-until-you-snort-ginger-ale-out-your nose worthy; I'm just glad this is not an especially spicy ginger ale.
I replied graciously by suggesting she pass me her napkin as my ginger ale came with a big shot of gin and I made a mess of my keyboard while reading her email.
When you start to blog, you don't start with the hope of being Freshly Pressed. You start with the hope of connecting with other people who get you. So while I've never been on the hunt for the elusive FP badge, I'm very happy that my reason for blogging -- you, you, you -- helped me tickle the noses of the editors at WordPress.
If you have yet to get FP'd, keep writing your blogs and we'll keep reading. One day you, too, will be snorting into a napkin.
