Dior Show waterproof, buildable volume, lash extension effect mascara.. Could have fooled me.
Always searching for a great mascara, I decided to bite the bullet and order Dior's Show.
At $25.00 this mascara boast a pretty big claim: runway mascara with extreme volume and "lash-extension" effect. Meaning that it should be very buildable and should add a fair amount of lenght.
As I have said before I have medium short lashes, in short nothing to bragg about and I can really use some extra humph.
I have purchased this mascara from Sephora about two weeks ago and have been putting it to the test, here's what I have concluded.
When you first open the mascara you see a huge wand, that thing was as big as my eye and very dense. I liked the bristles density but not the wand size because it makes for a very messy application no matter how careful you might be.
The formula is not as buildable and creamy as described, after the first coat you have to layer the others fairly quickly because it will dry on you. Also, while it keeps a curl like not many others it does get spidery after two coats, making it not very buildable.
I managed to get to four coats with a fair result with the help of a lash comb but I still didn't get the "lash-extension" effect promised on the package. It is also very difficult to remove, you might say Duh it's waterproof but, there's waterproof and then there's WATERPROOF.. This one doesn't go anywhere, even after eyemake up remover.
All in all it is not worth the price tag, even though it keeps a curl, I will return to using my Benefit They're real mascara because it actually delivers on its claim.
I'm very disappointed in this product because I was expecting much more than what I got, the color is not black enough, the wand is too big, it's not as buildable as described and it's a pain to remove.
