Most kids are back to school this week and us parents are getting back into the routine as we start looking for quick, easy and healthy dinners.
In honor of this autumnal tradition, Cook the Story offers 8 tips for getting dinner on the table, jam-packed with easy dinner examples, simple recipes and more.
One of the tips discussed is to make use of quick-cook (and NO COOK!) ingredients. So many of us fall back on the "three square meal" approach to cooking: A meat, a carb and a veg. That's fine. But whoever said that the veg has to be cooked?
Raw veggies are amazing things. They taste great, are full of nutrients and kids LOVE them. And the best part: No cooking required.
Are you convinced? Now go ahead and challenge yourself. Don't just grab a bag of carrots and a hunk of celery. Think about all the other veggies that taste great raw: zucchini wedges, radishes, whole button mushrooms, cauliflower florets, sugar snap peas, baby spinach leaves, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper rings, thinly sliced napa cabbage. The list goes on and on.
