The 70th Golden Globe Awards Fashion Recap
With a visually retro 60's Hollywood glamour aura, this year's Golden Globe Awards show was light and airy and absolutely fun to watch. The amazing hosts, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, brought their hilarious antics and spared no one. There also seemed to be a multitude of comedians and actors in general, presenting in a humorous tone, which really made this lengthy award show feel more like a fun party full of A-listers that we get to be a part of for a few hours.
Looking adorably chic and beautiful, the hosts: Tina Fey in L'Wren Scott and Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney. (Image: © Martin Sloan/UPPA/ZUMAPRESS.com.) Their outfit changes were pretty spectacular as well, don't you think?
But enough about the show -- you can find that in the Entertainment section! Let's talk GOWNS, shall we? I think the A-listers brought their A game last night. So many opted for a feminine sultry mesh gown in a variety of colors, with lace or metallic embroidery, from head to toe, or specifically placed to cover lady parts. Sexy, Sexy! Strapless mermaid gowns in thick fabrics, which seemed so fresh and pretty, flooded the red carpet as well. There were a handful of embellished bodices, chests and shoulders, with the remainder of the dress kept simple and floor-length.
Kate Hudson was one of my favorites of the evening, in a gorgeous Alexander McQueen gown with an embellished neck and belt. I also thought Helen Mirren in her Badgley Mischka gown and Jessica Alba in her peachy mermaid Oscar de la Renta were both just ravishing!
We saw lot of old Hollywood glamour, especially in the hairdos, though some opted to keep it loose and pretty, like Hayden Panettiere, or went with a simple updo, like Jennifer Garner.
I've collected all the trends and best gowns for you to scroll through right here! As for the worst dressed of the night -- well, I'll just politely say that they didn't make this list. But I do want to know who made your best and worst dressed list!
