4 Last Minute Gifts for the Kids (or Grown-Ups!) in Your Life
In case you haven't looked at the calendar today, let me help you: Today is Saturday, December 21, 2013. You've got five days left to get your gift giving all sorted out, wrapped up, and ready for the big day. I'll give you fair warning though: It's not pretty out there. I had to stop and pick up one measly card yesterday, and I would have rather made it out of construction paper and dull crayons while listening to nails on a chalkboard. To save you a trip out o the house, I've found four last minute gift-giving ideas with some things you might have around your house. If you don't, well, good luck out there. Godspeed!
I remember giving my parents a book of hand-made coupons one year for Christmas. I promised to do things like take out the trash, give a hug, or sort the laundry. Parents can give coupons as gifts too, and Lara at Overstuffed already did the hard work for you! She designed some adorable coupons and made two versions: blank ones and ones with great ideas already filled in. Pick the one you want, print 'em out, and stuff them in your kiddo's stocking. Done!
Visit Overstuffed to pick and print your coupons.
Jingle Bell Bracelets
I know you've been hearing the song all season -- in its many variations. The other morning while my youngest son was still doing his thing in the bathroom, I heard a rendition of, "Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg!" With gusto, even! Why not make a jingle bell bracelet for all those jingle-jangling kids -- or for Grandma, to match her jingle bell necklace and sweater. Heck, make one for yourself and show up on Christmas with bells on. Literally.

Adorable Homemade Dolly
If you can sew without sweating through your shirt (meaning: not me), this little doll pattern from Lemonade Makin' Mama would be a beloved gift. I bet you even have some cute scraps of material already hanging out in your house. (Note: Even I do and, as I said earlier, sewing makes me nervous!) I can imagine that any little girl or boy in your life would love a handmade plaything to get through the family togetherness at Great-Grandma Jones' house -- as she has absolutely no toys whatsoever in her home.
Visit Lemonade Makin' Mama to learn how to make this cute doll.
Hot Chocolate Stirrers
Did your kids rush in the door yesterday with a gift from little Sally, annoying Eddie, and the neighbor kid whose name you still don't know? Uh oh. Whatcha gonna do? Whip up some Hot Chocolate Stirrers complete with printable tags from Big Red Clifford. It's easy, it's inexpensive, and it's sure to make a little kid super excited. (Their parents, however, may offer your kid a Red Bull summer block party.) So get to melting down all of those Hershey kisses that came home with your kids from their school parties!
Visit Big Red Clifford for presentation ideas and some free printable tags!
Come back tomorrow and I'll give you some ideas for the non-kiddo family members that you're sitting there panicking about right now. So just test one of those hot chocolate stirrers in your adult coffee and relax. You've got this holiday. Trust me!
